This research quantified PVC/PU coated fabric usage in the EU upholstered furniture and transportation seating sectors. The methodology was centred on field research through a wide online survey with 150 interviews with furniture producers, transport seat manufacturers and PU/PVC coated fabric suppliers. The usage of PVC/PU coating in the furniture, office, aircraft, bus, train, and marine seating production was quantified and analyzed, and the advantages and disadvantages related to its usage, as perceived by seating producers. A mapping of leading PU/PVC coating suppliers and key companies in the seating industries was also included.
