JUNIOR DATA SCIENTIST

We are looking for a Junior Data Scientist with data analysis and programming skills to support CSIL research teams. Under the guidance and support of senior experts, candidates are expected to expand and strengthen their skills and become progressively more autonomous.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Data collection and processing using modern statistical and informatics techniques, including machine learning, data mining, text mining, and web scraping;
  • Development and application of analytical and prediction models, such as semantic analysis, cluster analysis, and bibliometric analysis;
  • Contribute to the design of the empirical approach for new research projects.

Academic Background:

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, or Economics, with excellent final grade (higher than 105/110 according to the Italian grading system).

Previous Work Experience:

  • This is an entry-level internship position. Previous work experience is not strictly required.

  • Internships in other research centres, public administration, universities, and/or international organisations would be an asset.

Languages:

  • Fluency in Italian and English (C1 or C2). If not the mother tongue, knowledge should preferably be proven by a language certificate.

Tools:

  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong knowledge of Python and R.
  • Knowledge of Stata and SQL would be an asset.
